Thank you to those who participated on the Practitioner's Forum with the Gainful Employment Post

In deference to the legal process in flight between the US Department of Education (USDE) and certain AOM schools on the topic of Gainful Employment Regulations, the forum post has been suspended. The topic of the Regulations and the lawsuit are important ones, so we are including more information for your review.

The AAAOM and other national organizations led the conversation in 2014 through the attached letter to the USDE which breaks down the complexities of the issue and how it impacts our field.

Subsequently the colleges filed the attached lawsuit, which clarifies additional nuances and impacts of the regulation. The complaint requests that the federal government take into consideration the current structure of the AOM profession and the desired employment scenarios of individual practitioners. We look forward to supporting the AOM community and working with colleges and practitioners to improve graduate success during this process.

We will also be polling subject matter experts in the community on how to create constructive dialogue on the topic in the near future. As always, don't hesitate to contact us at admin@aaaomonline.org.

Thank you again for your active participation in shaping the future of the profession.
